Depending on the time of year, these species often include king salmon, coho salmon, halibut, black rockfish and occasionally lingcod and black cod. According to Alaska Fish and Game, Sitka also boasts the highest catch rates of king salmon in Alaska (5x greater than Ketchikan and 7x greater than Juneau!).
At Outer Limits Charters, there are three styles of fishing you can expect to learn: mooching or trolling for salmon, bottom-fishing for halibut, and jigging/mooching for rockfish and lingcod. Meet your captain, Riley – a seasoned fisherman with an unwavering passion for the waters of Sitka, Alaska. Graduating with a B.S. in Biology, Riley’s family roots and deep connection to fishing led him to call Sitka home. From commercial fishing, living and working remotely at a local fish hatchery, to studying fisheries biology, Riley’s diverse experiences have honed his expertise in the pristine waters of Southeast Alaska. With Riley at the helm, you can trust in his extensive knowledge and unwavering commitment to providing unforgettable charter fishing adventures. Get ready to set sail with a captain who knows these waters like the back of his hand.

Welcome aboard the F/V Bad Sport, your gateway to unforgettable fishing adventures. Step into the enclosed cabin, where up to six guests can relax and soak in anticipation of the day’s angling expedition. The cabin is thoughtfully equipped with amenities to enhance your experience, including a toilet, ample storage space to keep your belongings organized, and a heater to ensure a cozy ride even in cooler weather conditions. We prioritize your comfort and safety, ensuring every moment on board is enjoyable and worry-free.
The walk-around deck allows for ample fishing space whether we are targeting salmon, halibut, or rockfish. Our 30' custom-built Almar hull is powered by twin 250hp Honda outboards and ensures swift and smooth navigation, allowing us to easily reach prime fishing grounds.
